ASID Design Pathways Panel + Tour

Why are trade shows important to the life of an interior designer? A panel of experienced design professionals will explain why trade shows are essential to your career and why it’s imperative to attend them. Our experts will give you insights on what questions to ask, how to evaluate products, and why it is so critical to your success to make connections and establish strong vendor relationships throughout your career.

After the panel discussion, you will break into small groups and tour the show floor with one of our panelists to receive guidance on how to make the most of your time at these important professional events.

IIDA Student Design Charette

School-nominated IIDA Student members from around the country will compete in this live, onsite annual design competition during NeoCon. Students have less than six hours to determine a design solution, develop a presentation, and pitch their concept to a panel of design leaders. An awards celebration will follow.

NeoCon attendees are encouraged to observe the students during the creative and presentation process. If you would like to attend, you must RSVP by June 12.

charette NOUN [SHUH-RET]

1. An intense collaborative session in which a group of designers draft a solution to a design problem within a limited time frame for presentation internally or to clients.

2. A creative process akin to visual brainstorming that is used by design professionals to develop solutions to a design program within a limited time frame.

IIDA Student Roundtable: Activism, Design, and Social Justice

Students and emerging designers, are you looking for insight on how to develop a design career that encompasses art, design, activism, and social justice? Join us for the IIDA Student Roundtable, sponsored by OFS, being held at NeoCon for the first time this June. Featuring moderator Maria VanDeman, Ind. IIDA, district sales manager at OFS, with a panel of design leaders and influencers for an essential discussion with a live Q&A.

This program is for students and emerging designers in their first 5 years of their career.
